Tennis elbow — PRP treatment that heals the tendon

Chronic pain on the outside of the elbow that won't ease despite rehab?

PRP heals the degenerated tendon and, in randomised trials, produced 0% surgical need vs 20% after physiotherapy alone.

Ultrasound-guided PRP injection for lateral epicondylitis when cortisone and physiotherapy haven't been enough.

Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis) is chronic tendon involvement on the outside of the elbow, often from repetitive gripping. With ultrasound-guided PRP treatment the tendon heals structurally — not just symptomatically.

How it works

  1. Single visit (~45 min)
    1. 01Ultrasound examination & diagnosis~15 min
A licensed physiotherapist locates the tendon insertion at the lateral epicondyle with diagnostic ultrasound, assesses the degree of tendinosis and confirms the treatment plan.
    2. 02Ultrasound-guided PRP injection~30 min
A blood sample is centrifuged and the platelet-rich plasma is injected with millimetre precision directly into the affected tendon insertion under ultrasound guidance.
  2. 03Structured rehab & follow-up6–12 wk
Progressive eccentric training of the wrist extensors, ergonomic adjustments and follow-up to ensure full return to loading.

What is tennis elbow?

Tennis elbow is a chronic overuse injury of the tendon attachment on the outside of the elbow. Despite the name, it more often affects people with repetitive computer work, tradespeople or those who lift a lot. Pain occurs with gripping and can be disabling. Standard treatment — rest, cortisone, physiotherapy — often only provides temporary relief in chronic cases.

How we treat tennis elbow

After examination with diagnostic ultrasound we map the state of the tendon. Ultrasound-guided PRP injection is placed with precision into the degenerated tendon area and stimulates structural healing. Treatment is combined with progressive eccentric exercise for optimal results. Most patients notice clear improvement within 6–12 weeks.
